Introduction

Fairies are a support unit that can be added to any Echelon as a 6th team member. They provide different stat bonuses based on their level and rarity, as well as a Skill that can be activated before battle which may provide further stat bonuses or other kinds of utility.

They can be crafted in Equipment Heavy Production (or LSC) which is unlocked after 60 unique map clears.

Fairy Types

There are two types of Fairy. Combat fairies are focused on boosting the combat capabilities of your Dolls with their Skills. Strategy fairies have Skills that for the most part don’t affect combat performance directly. Combat Fairy Skills have no Cooldown and can be toggled on to activate automatically, while Strategy Fairy Skills require manual activation and have a Cooldown.

Fairy Talents

Fairy Talents are a passive effect that is randomly assigned to a Fairy when they are crafted and can be changed by calibrating them. Talents provide stat bonuses but rely on RNG to activate unlike the innate stat bonuses Fairies provide and Skills.

Talents come in three tiers, and those are Tier 1, Tier 2 and ‘Class Specific’. Tier 1 Talents have the highest trigger chance, while Class Specific Talents have a moderate trigger chance. Tier 2 Talents have the lowest trigger chance, but they trade this off for higher bonus values than Tier 1 Talents have. The Fervor Talent is an exclusive Talent to Tier 2 which is possibly the strongest Talent of them all.

A Talent’s Tier and the Fairy’s rarity will affect the Talent’s trigger chance as outlined in the table below.

Talent Tier Fairy Rarity Trigger Rate
Tier 1 1/2/3/4/5 40/60/80/90/100%
Tier 2 1/2/3/4/5 20/40/60/80/100%
Class Specific 1/2/3/4/5 30/50/70/90/100%

Balancing Rarity and Tier

The difference in strength bonus between Tier 1 and Tier 2 talents is generally not enough to justify the 20% less trigger rate at low rarity. For example, a Tier 1 Damage Talent offers a 12% Damage boost, while a Tier 2 Damage Talent offers a 15% Damage boost. At 1 star rarity, the Tier 1 Talent will have a 40% trigger chance while the Tier 2 Talent will only have a 20% trigger chance. 3% extra damage in exchange for 20% trigger chance is a diminishing return, and therefore, if given the choice, the Tier 1 Talent should be used instead.

Recommendations

Since a mass amount of GFL’s gameplay revolves around dealing as much damage as possible in the shortest period of time, in most – if not all – situations Tier 1 or 2 Damage Talent and Fervor are the best choices.
