Level 10 Effect Every 4th hit inflicts 2.4x base damage
Because M2Hb has a passive Skill, she is automatically a solid MG. As she is a 3 star unit, however, she has a few problems.
M2HB’s main strength comes from her Skill and high Damage stat. Her Damage stat is 102 at max, beating the runner-up by a whole 6 points. This high Damage synergizes well with what makes her one of the best MGs, her Skill, which makes every fourth shot of hers deal 2.4x her Damage. With both of these factors combined, M2HB easily outdamages most MGs.
M2HB, however, has many inherent problems that come with being a lower rarity unit. As she is a 3 star, she’s allowed a rather limited stat total -- as most of her stat points have been allocated to Damage, her Accuracy is low in exchange, and is in fact the lowest Accuracy out of MGs, resting at a mere 18. In addition, as she is a 3 star, she has a smaller magazine capacity than the other passive Skill MGs, forcing her one-volley damage to be lower than the other three by virtue of her simply firing less shots. Overall, though, these qualities are not large enough detractions to make M2HB bad, or even average. As far as budget MG options go, she’s about as good as they come.
Insane Damage Stat
Resting at 102, M2HB has the uncontested highest Damage stat out of all MGs.
M2HB possesses a passive Skill, which is the best type of Skill for MGs. As MGs are powerful enough to finish a battle within their first volley, they get the most out of passive Skills due to them not having an Initial Cooldown.
M2HB has the lowest Accuracy stat out of the MGs, who already have inherently low Accuracy.
M2HB only has 10 shots in her magazine, while the other three MGs with passive skills have 11. This one ammo makes M2HB deal considerably less damage compared to them.
M2HB is a very good MG all around, with a few minor flaws that don’t majorly detract from her performance.
The two most important factors of M2HB’s kit are her passive Skill and high Damage Stat. First of all, M2HB’s passive skill is the best type of skill for an MG to have. This is because MGs are strong enough to finish off the enemy within their first volley, which can last for anywhere between 5 to 7 seconds with a max Ammo Box. As battles involving MGs end so fast, passive Skills, which activate from the moment a battle starts are naturally most effective. M2HB has the weakest Skill modifier out of the passive MGs, but despite this, she still has higher DPS than any other non-passive Skill MG. Passive Skills are just that good.
M2HB’s second strength is her high Damage stat -- she has the highest Damage stat out of all MGs, resting at 102 when maxed. This is 6 points higher than PK, 7 points higher than PKP, and a whole 17 points higher than MG5, and synergizes phenomenally with M2HB’s Skill, which boosts the damage of every fourth shot by 140%. As M2HB has such a high base Damage stat, she doesn’t fall behind the other passive skill MGs for the most of her first volley’s duration despite having a much weaker Skill than all of them. In fact, in many scenarios, M2HB actually surpasses both MG5 and PK for the most of the first volley. Due to a different reason, however, M2HB deals less damage in the first volley than both MG5 and PK despite theoretically outdamaging them for most of it.
M2HB’s first flaw -- and the reason why she deals less damage in the first volley than either PK or MG5 -- is because unlike the other 3 MGs with passive skills, M2HB has 10 rounds per magazine instead of 11. Rounds are SG/MG specific stats that determine how many times a certain unit can fire before having to reload, and as M2HB fires one less bullet per volley compared to the other passive Skill MG, she’s guaranteed to deal less damage than them. In addition, M2HB’s Skill activates every four shots, and as with a max Ammo Box, M2HB gets 15 rounds instead of 16, she procs her Skill one less time in the first volley compared to the other passive Skill MGs. Although M2HB’s Skill does proc on her first round in the next volley, as she’ll rarely go into the second volley, that fourth proc can be seen as wasted. Most battles involving M2HB don’t even go all the way to her last round in her magazine anyways, so while this is a negative, it’s not as big of a deal as it may seem most of the time.
M2HB’s second flaw is her low Accuracy. As she is a 3 star, she has a generally lower stat total compared to 4 star and 5 star MGs; despite this, she still has the highest Damage stat out of all MG, which means that her Accuracy stat had to be lower to accommodate her lower stat total. Indeed, at 18 Accuracy, M2HB has the lowest Accuracy out of all MGs. In order to compensate for this, M2HB’s Equipment choices are limited to either EOT or ITI sight -- it is inefficient to give her VFL scope for facing anything other than Armored Units. The breaking point between EOT and ITI is 13 Evasion -- against anything with less than 13 Evasion, M2HB performs better with an EOT Scope, while against anything with 13 or more Evasion, an ITI scope lets her deal more damage. Considering how most Tier 2 enemies (enemies that appear Chapter 6 onwards) have 15 Evasion, M2HB will more often use an ITI scope. Despite these restrictions, however, M2HB still deals damage on par with, if not greater than, the other passive Skill MGs when starting from the same point.
All in all, while M2HB has some minor setbacks, she still performs phenomenally in most SGMG Echelons. She’s an excellent budget choice who surely will not disappoint.
SGs With Accuracy/Damage Buffs
Like most MGs, M2HB only requires Damage and Accuracy buffs. Unlike other MGs, however, M2HB actually appreciates Accuracy buffs as much as Damage buffs, if not more, due to her abysmal base Accuracy. Some examples of units who can provide her with these buffs are KSG and M37.
HGs With Accuracy/Damage Buffs
As stated above, M2HB only makes use of two types of buffs, Accuracy and Damage. In addition, because of her abysmal Accuracy stat combined with her already high Damage stat, she prefers Accuracy as much, if not more, than Damage buffs. Some HGs that would make good teammates for her are SAA, Grizzly, and Mk23.
As MGs are inherently selfish attackers, it does not matter to M2HB which MGs she’s used with. Some great MGs that M2HB can be used with are PK, PKP, and MG5.
As M2HB does not provide armor buffs in her buff tiles, it does not matter as much whether M2HB buffs the SG or not. Therefore, M2HB can be placed anywhere in the backline without hurting the Echelon.
Another option is to use M2HB in a 2SG echelon, although this is not ideal for several reasons. Once again, as M2HB does not provide an armor buff, she can be placed anywhere in the backline without affecting the Echelon much.
The M2 Machine Gun is a heavy machine gun designed by John Browning in a similar manner to a previous gun also designed by Browning, the M1919 Browning machine gun. The M2 Machine Gun uses a much bigger .50 BMG (Browning Machine Gun) cartridge, which was specially designed to be used with it. It has been used in many wars as a vehicle weapon for the United States since the 1930s all the way to the present. Due to its name, M2, the M2 machine gun is also called “Ma Deuce” from time to time.
