Level 10 Cooldown 16 Seconds
M4 SOPMOD II is a member of the Anti-Rain team and one of the story-locked ARs, obtainable only by completing Chapter 3 Stage 3. She is not obtainable by any other means, so do not disassemble her or use her as enhancement fodder under any circumstances. SOPMOD is also a powerful AR choice for players at any stage in the game, as she has good stats and a strong AoE skill that provides significant damage in any situation. She may have a few weaknesses that leave her just shy of being top tier, but overall M4 SOPMOD II has a solid kit for both Day and Night battles as part of an AR/SMG Echelon.
Unique Equipment Slots
M4 SOPMOD II has a different and more flexible equipment slot setup than most other ARs, with two Attachment slots and one Ammo slot. This allows her to equip PEQs for Night Battles without sacrificing damage output, or to simply further boost her grenade damage in day battles with an EOT sight.
Good AOE Damage
SOPMOD’s Anti-Personnel Grenade Skill, while somewhat limited in range, deals high damage to affected enemies. It is therefore a great tool for clearing small clusters of high-HP enemies in extended battles.
Above-Average Overall Stats
SOPMOD also has above average Accuracy and RoF caps which provide her with good base DPS in any situation.
Suboptimal Formation Buff
Although SOPMOD’s Formation buff provides an Evasion boost for SMGs in all three tiles in front of her, the Accuracy bonus she provides is also largely negligible for most SMGs.
M4 SOPMOD II has strong, relatively well-rounded stat caps, with her Accuracy and RoF capping at nearly 10% above the AR class average. Her Damage cap is also average for ARs, meaning that with proper Formation buffs she can output significant DPS even without skills activating. SOPMOD’s main strength over other grenade ARs comes in not her stats, however, but in her unique equipment slots, which allows her to have more consistent DPS in more situations. In day battles SOPMOD can equip an EOT sight to increase her grenade damage, and in night battles she can equip a PEQ to avoid the accuracy penalty, all while retaining the benefits of a VFL scope and HV ammo.
SOPMOD’s Skill is Anti-Personnel Grenade, which at maximum level deals 12x her Damage to all enemies in a 1.5 unit radius. The high multiplier on this Skill allows SOPMOD to effectively clear out groups of enemies or deal burst damage to bosses. Its 8 second Initial Cooldown, though, is a bit of a weakness, as the Skill often will not have the chance to activate in shorter battles.
SOPMOD’s other weak link is her Formation buff, which provides a 12% Evasion boost and a 50% Accuracy boost for SMGs in all three spaces in front of her. Although the Evasion buff is reasonable for most SMGs, the Accuracy buff is more or less wasted due to the low base Accuracy and overall DPS of most SMGs.
Overall, M4 SOPMOD II is a solid AR choice for any stage of the game due to her well-rounded stats and strong Skill. Although her Formation buff is not quite as powerful as that of some other 4 and 5 star ARs, SOPMOD’s overall kit makes her more than good enough to make the cut in most AR/SMG Echelons for both new and veteran players.
HGs/SMGs with Damage or Crit formation buffs
SOPMOD pairs well with SMGs and HGs such as UMP45, M4A1, and MP-446 whose formation buffs further increase the damage of Anti-Personnel Grenade.
HGs or SMGs with ROF formation buffs
Due to her good base Damage and lack of a RoF-boosting skill, SOPMOD also benefits heavily from HGs and SMGs that can increase her ROF such as Welrod MkII, Vector and Skorpion.

The standard F formation allows SOPMOD to mutually benefit from one or both of the frontline buffers. She can be placed in either tile 7 or tile 1 depending on how much her grenade wants to be emphasized.
Despite being listed in-game as separate units, M4 SOPMOD II is not a different weapon than M4A1 but rather a set of mass modifications to the M4 Carbine system. The SOPMOD kit itself is simply a set of accessories, including grips, thermal and night vision optics, suppressors, and grenade launchers. The modularity of the M4 system is reflected in-game by their unique ability to equip two accessory pieces, and is possibly referenced in SOPMOD’s enhancement line, “Great Evolution! Christmas Tree!!” which indicates that she sees her modularity and attachments like ornaments on a christmas tree.
