Vector is a well-rounded unit who can fit into just about any Echelon formation looking for an offensive SMG. She boasts some of the best overall parameters among SMGs, providing durability while also outputting a good amount of damage with her Incendiary Grenade skill.
Vector’s main shortcoming is her lack of any significant teamwide defensive utility, due to the single-space ROF formation buff she offers and her offensive active skill. However, the damage output from her skill more than makes up the difference by creating shorter battles in which Vector and her allies suffer less damage.
Excellent Overall Stats
Vector has excellent overall stats for an SMG, boasting above-average HP, Damage, Evasion, and Rate of Fire. Her base ROF is second-highest among SMGs.
High AoE Damage
Vector’s skill, Incendiary Grenade, provides strong AoE damage against large groups of enemies. It is particularly useful against fast-moving enemies such as Scouts or Prowlers.
Weak Formation Buff
Vector’s formation buff only affects the space directly behind her and provides a solitary boost to the buffed AR’s Rate of Fire, which is suboptimal in multi-AR formations.
Vector is one of the premium choices for the frontline SMG role due to her high base stats and good damage output. Her HP, Damage, and Evasion are all slightly above the average for SMGs, and her max base RoF is 101, nearly 20% above the class average. Vector’s Incendiary Grenade skill also synergizes well with the damage increases from Hollow Point Ammo and other accessories. Despite her lack of defensive options, Vector’s undamped damage output with Incendiary Grenade can significantly impact a battle by swinging it into an Echelon’s favor.
At maximum level, Vector’s skill, Incendiary Grenade, deals 7.0x of Vector’s base damage on impact and burns for an additional 5 seconds, dealing damage equal to Vector’s base damage over the course of that duration. The damage from the grenade is guaranteed to affect all enemies within its radius, which makes it a very effective tool against large mobs or enemies with high Evasion.
As previously mentioned, Vector has a somewhat weak formation buff for multi-AR formations since her buff pattern only applies a RoF boost to the square directly behind her. However, if placed in front of an AR that buffs DMG, both Vector and the paired AR will deal significant damage to most enemy types.
Overall, Vector is a top-class SMG for her high AoE damage output and decent survivability. With the right setup, she shines as a significant damage-dealing offtank when paired with a Damage-skill AR, as the combined power of their skills and formation buffs will shred through most enemies.
ARs with DMG self-buff skills
Vector’s formation buff increase Rate of Fire, and therefore is most effective when applied to ARs with Damage self-buff skills such as M4A1, G36, and G41.
ARs or HGs with DMG formation buffs
Vector benefits highly from any Damage buffs she can get to maximize the value of Incendiary Grenade. Ideally, she can mutually buff an AR that provides her with a Damage increase, such as FAL, G36, and 416.
Like with most SMGs, the 1SMG 2AR 1HG or 2SMG 3AR F formations are generally considered the most viable formations when using Vector. She should generally be placed as an offtank in position 7, with an AR directly behind her to benefit from her formation buff.
The SMG that came to be known as the KRISS Vector was first introduced as the Super V in 2007 and was met with criticism for its strange visual design. The Super V’s design underwent several modifications, however, and has since gained recognition among both civilians and police forces.
